Frequently asked questions

Which QR codes can QRnava read?

PAY by square and Payme (Slovakia), QR Platba, QR Platba+F and QR Faktura (Czechia), and EPC SEPA codes. Any other QR code is shown as plain text.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The code is read and decoded directly in your browser. Images, account numbers and amounts never leave your device, and QRnava uses no cookies or trackers.

Can QRnava make the payment?

No. QRnava only reads the code. Copy the details into your bank's app or internet banking and confirm the payment there.

How do I copy the details?

Tap any value, such as the IBAN, amount or variable symbol, and it is copied. Paste it into the matching field in your banking app.

Does a valid IBAN mean the recipient is genuine?

No. The checksum only shows that the number is well formed. Always check the recipient's name in your banking app, especially for unexpected invoices.

Why does it say “Decoded with warnings”?

The code deviates from its standard, for example a field is too long. The data is shown exactly as written in the code; read the notes before paying.

How do I pay a QR code from a PDF invoice on my computer?

Take a screenshot of the code and paste it here with Ctrl+V, or drag the image in. QRnava reads the code and you copy the IBAN, amount and variable symbol into internet banking. No phone needed.

What is the difference between PAY by square and QR Platba?

PAY by square is the Slovak banks' standard: the data is compressed, so the code looks dense. QR Platba (SPAYD) is the Czech standard with readable text such as SPD*1.0*ACC:…. QRnava reads both, as well as Payme links, QR Faktura and EPC (SEPA) codes.
